Which legendary do you prefer? Which Academy would you like to join? From unique creatures to outfits, here’s everything you need to know to choose between Scarlet and Violet

Between tradition and modernity, conventional and futuristic technologies, the choice of version between Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is not just about the different creatures that will populate Palden.
As in the other Pokémon games, each version has its respective legendaries and other exclusive monsters. In addition, visual changes will be present depending on the choice between Scarlet and Violet.
Of course, it is possible to buy the duo pack and benefit from both games. However, you will need two consoles to trade or use Pokémon HOME. See the specifics of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Which Legendary to Choose?
Although we still don’t know the types of Pokémon, it is already possible to have a visual preference. The version choice usually depends on which legendary you would most like to have.
On the official website, it is only said that these two legendary are endowed with incredible powers that far surpass those of other Pokémon. However, information about them remains shrouded in mystery.
Pokémon Scarlet Exclusive Legendary: Koraidon
Koraidon is the Legendary Pokémon that can be found in Pokémon Scarlet. He has a very primitive dinosaur look with feathers and a motorcycle tire on his chest. When he transforms into a mount to help explore Paldea, he can assume the following forms:
Race form: Run at full speed, but also climb cliffs
Swimming way: For navigating water surfaces (note that their tires are buoys)
Flight way: To fly in the sky
Pokémon Violet Exclusive Legendary: Miraidon
Myrmidon is the legendary Pokémon that can be found in Pokémon Violet. He has a very futuristic lizard look with scales and thrusters on his back. Like Koraidon, he can activate different modes:
Land mode: For driving at full speed but also for climbing cliffs
Water Mode: For surfing in the water
Air Mode: To fly in the sky

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet teachers
In addition to the primary teacher Jacq, common to both versions, players can choose between two other teachers depending on their performance.
Pokemon Scarlet: The Tradition
In this version, Professor Olim will guide you and research some enigmatic aspects of the region’s history. Her very primitive attire seems much more inclined to perform with ancient and traditional tools. We also see that Koraidon, the version’s Legendary, also has primitive aspects.
Pokemon Violet: Modernity
In this version, Professor Turum will guide you. Much more focused on modern technologies, we still don’t know if he and Olim will be big rivals – like Team Magma and Aqua, for example.
Different gyms and uniforms between Scarlet and Violet
In Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the gym’s name, emblem, and uniforms differ depending on your game version. You’ll meet people at Orange Academy and Grape Academy, Pokémon, and your new you.
The Academy is located in Mescalero, Paldea’s largest city in both cases. Here are the differences between the two versions:
Pokemon Scarlet: You enter the Orange Academy. Your outfit is orange, just like Principal Clavel. The emblem is an orange one.
Pokémon Violet: You enter the Purple Academy. Your outfit is purple, just like Principal Clavel’s. The emblem is a grape.
Note that the clothes of your teammates, such as Pepper or Menzi, will also change depending on the gym you choose.
